Corn futures ended the day 1/2 to 2 3/4 cents higher and closed higher for the week. May corn ended the week 13 1/2 cents higher than last week and December corn posted weekly gains of 13 1/2 cents. Followthrough buying next week could be hard to come by, especially for old-crop futures, as the market continues to get indications that end-users are searching for alternatives to high-priced corn.
