Mid-Session Cattle Market Report

April cattle traded moderately lower for the first part of the day session today and stayed inside of yesterday's range. Sluggish weekly export sales at only 4,100 tonnes plus strength in the US dollar helped to pressure the market early. Losses were limited by a turn down in the dollar. Boxed-beef cut-out values came in at $183.07 this morning, down $1.20 from yesterday and down from $184.62 last week at this time. There was some support from talk of a developing snowstorm in the central plains but the weakness in the beef market helped to hold the market lower.
