Anne E. Bagan - Managing Director, Audits

Anne E. Bagan was appointed Managing Director, Audits of CME Group in February 2008. She is responsible for overseeing CME Group's Clearing House Audit function.

The Clearing House Audit function is integral to the safety and soundness of CME Group markets and to maintaining the financial integrity of CME Clearing. Audit teams are responsible for reviewing all clearing fee payments for both CME and CBOT member firms. They also are responsible for auditing new member firms, including clearing firms and trading entities, at both CME and CBOT to ensure that new members of either exchange are able to manage their risk of participating in our markets. In order to ensure that a new firm reviews all membership options available, is structured appropriately, is financially solvent and has appropriate risk management practices in place, the Audit team conducts a thorough analysis of a firm's financial and operational policies and procedures. By building a relationship with firms throughout their clearing membership, Bagan and her team have set a model that other exchanges have sought to follow.

Previously, Bagan served as Director, Audits of CME Group since August 2007 and as Director, Audits of CME since 2000. Bagan joined CME in 1988 as Audits Supervisor. She was promoted to Manager in 1990, Director in 1993 and Vice President in 1994 (re-titled Director in 2000). Before joining the company, Bagan worked in auditing and accounting roles for Arthur Andersen and Saul Stone & Company, a futures commission merchant.

She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa in 1982. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
