Listen to CME Group product specialists share the latest OTC developments in this pre-recorded conference call. Topics discussed include:
On July 10, the CFTC passed the long awaited product definition rules. This starts the clock on a host of other rules which had already been passed, but could not go into effect until swaps were defined.
The CFTC is still working on the first round of clearing requirement determinations. The draft determination is expected to be published in late July. After a 90-day review, this would be finalized in October, and the clearing mandate would begin in January 2013 for swap dealers, major swap participants, and active funds.
We look forward to keeping the lines of communication open and will keep you updated on future OTC Clearing discussions.
