Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship

As our presence grows across the globe, so does our desire to improve the communities where we live and work. Our global offices in London, Belfast, and Singapore expand our charitable footprint through their community efforts.

Our global citizenship initiatives include hosting events and making donations to benefit charitable organizations as well as volunteering time to give back to our communities through organizations that support those in need.

London

London employees have volunteered at the Royal London Children’s Hospital during past holiday seasons to convert a large play area into a winter wonderland for the children to enjoy. London employees also support local youth through the Get Onside Program at the Saracens Foundation, where volunteers play rugby with Feltham Young Offenders to help them develop social and leadership skills.

Our London office has a special relationship with the Winter Night Shelter, where temporary residents receive basic sleeping accommodations and daily meals. Employees helped to build a new kitchen for the shelter and continue to look after temporary residents by serving food, collecting food donations, and organizing fundraisers. The office also hosts bi-annual Charity Quiz Nights to benefit the Winter Shelter.

Belfast

Our Belfast employees have developed a special relationship with the Simon Community Northern Ireland, a non-profit organization that provides support for the homeless, and have worked with Simon Community on multiple fronts.

Employees donated cash and technology hardware to create fully-functioning computer stations that allow the organization’s clients to search for jobs and develop professional skills. They also rebuilt the Simon Community Northern Ireland’s website and trained the organization’s staff on how to manage the site so they would not have to pay an outside firm to do the work.

New York

As part of the 9/11 Tribute Center’s Annual National Day of Service and Remembrance, CME Group’s New York employees put together bikes for more than 500 children of active service members. Employees inflated bike tires, did a quality check, and added bows and ribbons with a personal note for each child.

New York employees also volunteered at a boutique operated by Sanctuary for Families, which provides needed clothing to victims of domestic violence or sex trafficking and their children. CME Group’s volunteers spent the day organizing and sorting clothing that was donated by our Women’s Initiative Network and the Community Relations team.

Singapore

CME Group’s Singapore office has partnered with the Singapore Children’s Society, an organization dedicated to protecting and nurturing children in need. To date, CME Group has donated more than $53,000 and sponsored educational field trips for the children. In 2015, CME Group received the Singapore Children’s Society Silver Award and was recognized as one of the society’s 1000 Enterprises and 1000 Philanthropists for Children-In-Need.

"On behalf of our beneficiaries that we serve at Singapore Children’s Society, I would like to thank CME Group for supporting us in what we strongly believe in, to furthering our mission of bringing relief and happiness to children in need.”

—Mr. Alfred Tan, Executive Director, Singapore Children's Society
