CME Group is proud of its partnerships with Washington Irving Elementary School in Chicago, New York Public School 277 in the South Bronx and Lambeth College in London. CME Group partners with these schools through service projects, technology improvements, classroom involvement and resource donations. These relationships provide our exchange community with a unique opportunity to improve the quality of education for the students and do our part toward ensuring the success of tomorrow’s leaders.
Through this program, CME Group departments are paired with individual classrooms within Washington Irving Elementary School to strengthen the connection between CME Group and the students. Each school year, our employees volunteer their time and skills by spending time with the students. Past activities sponsored include field trips to local libraries and museums, poetry slams, school plays, fishing trips, physical fitness programming and nutrition education.
Each June, CME Group volunteers participate in the annual service day at Washington Irving Elementary School by painting classrooms and common areas, creating murals, gardening and assisting with other projects. In the afternoon, our volunteers are joined by the students, staff and family members from the Irving community for a picnic featuring food and entertainment.
Every year, members of the CME Group leadership team volunteer at both Washington Irving Elementary School and New York Public School 277 classrooms as part of the Principal/Teacher for a Day program, assisting with classroom lessons and providing extra support for teachers.
