Description
The MD, OTC Products will be instrumental in advancing CME’s strategic goal of penetrating the OTC marketplace through:
Launching new OTC products
Leveraging existing platforms for further OTC market penetration
Developing OTC opportunities via acquisition/strategic investment
Extending the OTC infrastructure
Establishing a new product launch process for OTC and cleared-only products.
The Managing Director, OTC Products is responsible for managing the global OTC strategy and development of new OTC products across all product lines (Interest Rates, Foreign Exchange, Commodities and Equities). They will work closely with each Product Head, the MD, Products and Services, our regional office heads, and with senior leadership in the Clearing, Business Development, Operations, and Technology Divisions to set clear short- and long-term priorities for OTC expansion. This includes creating and implementing a vision for product innovation, pricing, marketing, technology, and organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
Once the strategy has been clearly outlined and measurable goals and milestones have been set, the MD, OTC Products will work cross-functionally to execute on these goals. This will require extensive coordination, leadership, and teamwork. They will work closely with senior level management across all departments internally (e.g., Technology, Marketing, Clearing, and Business Development) to help them determine what will be necessary to develop and support the OTC initiative. The primary job functions are:
Develop, execute, and lead the global OTC business strategy across all product lines for the purpose of accelerating growth in volume and revenue from existing and new clients.
Works closely with other Product Group Heads in developing and successfully executing against detailed OTC sales plans across all product lines.
Develops, documents, and manages execution of detailed OTC business plans, including but not limited to clearly defined performance objectives, metrics and accountabilities for all part of the business plan.
Actively interface with team members to identify targeted market segments or client firms, develop a value proposition for each target audience, identify key messages, and select the best communication medium to deliver the messages, and manage the execution of the communication plans.
Works with other departments, such as in Technology and Clearing to develop the infrastructure in order to support the OTC business strategy.
Work with other leaders of the business to determine priorities and potential solutions to regulatory issues and identify competitive situations that warrant a response by the CME Group.
Directs and works effectively with leaders across the organization to appropriately plan for and document needs (people, time, money) for special or on-going projects aimed at new OTC product development, enhanced distribution, or improved customer service for the OTC product suite.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in derivatives sales and marketing with strong knowledge of OTC Products. Must have deep knowledge of the targeted customer segments including uses of OTC products to manage risks and opportunities to improve the market.
General knowledge of other CME Group products, markets and customer segments
Well-developed analytical skills, complemented by strategic acumen and sound business judgment.
Proven abilities to influence others and to achieve tangible business results.
