Senior Buyer

Participate in the negotiation and purchase of technology goods and services by CME. Partner with internal business clients to ensure that purchased goods and services meet the needs of the business clients. Proactively seek ways to drive down total cost of ownership through evaluation of vendor relationships. Partner with internal business clients to ensure that consulting firms meet the needs of the business clients.

Identify and evaluate sourcing opportunities in alignment with strategic, operating and financial CME objectives.

Negotiate agreements that deliver value to our shareholders.

Maintain awareness of best practices in the marketplace and implement appropriate changes.

Implement and improve processes that facilitate the procurement of professional services at best pricing.

Nurture relationships with internal organizations.

Establish department metrics that drives customer service, customer satisfaction and process improvements.

Requirements

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience with technology hardware and software procurement transactions
Previous experience with evaluating vendor proposals
Bachelor’s degree required
CPM certification is preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills and reading comprehension skills required
One to three years procurement experience
Ability to develop and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
