Market Surveillance analysts are principally responsible for the daily monitoring and analysis of futures markets to detect and prevent manipulative market activity. Analysts conduct research, monitor positions, communicate with market participants, and closely evaluate market dynamics in the futures, underlying cash and related derivative markets. Results of these activities are routinely communicated
to Market Regulation management.
Market Analysts also conduct a variety of investigations into potential violations of Exchange rules related to positions, reporting, deliveries and transactions executed outside of the central market. The analyst is responsible for reviewing documentary evidence, corresponding with and interviewing market participants and preparing investigative reports.
Market Analysts are also responsible for reviewing financial statements of firms, assisting in the administration of registration and delivery processes, and may be required to conduct physical inspections of grain facilities. These inspections require climbing and balancing.
Requirements
Individual will have a Bachelor's degree and concentrations in economics, agricultural economics or finance are preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills and well developed personal computing skills are required.
