This position will require the person to be the lead for all projects, as assigned. The hire will work with management to design and oversee development of applications.  Candidate must have proven history of leading medium/large teams, motivating developers, and providing overall mentoring.  The lead engineer is expected to review problems and provide solutions  to improve resolution efficiency  as well as lead design and code reviews across functional applications in the group. The role has both an architectural and implementation side. This person will be required to work with the development team to implement solutions.  Additionally, the position will have the candidate working directly with business sponsors to help flush out requirements and comment on feasibility of requests as well as provide time estimates for implementation.

Candidate must have professional experience with designing solutions using application server technology (BEA Weblogic, JBoss, IBM Websphere). Required programming knowledge includes Java/J2EE (Java 1.5, JSP, Servlet Technology, SOA), XML/XSLT, RDBMS/SQL (Oracle). Candidate must have substantial OOD experience. Candidate must be comfortable working in Unix / Linux environment. Proficiency in web architecture is a must (Apache, SSL, Search engines, caching, TCP). Experience in trading applications development and/or web content management beneficial. Open Source experience a plus.
