For your convenience, CME Clearing offers low cost exchange of foreign currency through its Moneychanger function. This service facilitates the trading of products denominated in currencies other than U.S. dollars. Transactions related to a number of CME products, such as the Euroyen futures, must take place in the currency on which the product is based. These transactions range from posting initial and maintenance performance bonds to calculating daily profits and losses in the mark-to-market process. The Moneychanger function is particularly useful to independent traders and traders from smaller firms who don’t have convenient or cost effective access to foreign exchange facilities, but who must have the ability to transfer funds in a different currency.

CME provides this service in conjunction with a number of different banks and other currency vendors, who offer competitive exchange rates daily. Moneychanger makes one transaction per day. All CME clearing members can use the service, at no additional charge, for the transfer of overnight funds required to satisfy the terms of a futures contract or other related legal transactions. Moneychanger provides exchange in the following currencies: Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, British pound, Swiss franc, Swedish krona and euro.
